What's a campaign?

A campaign is the event that allows you to activate a chatbot so that you can chat with a user group. When you finish a campaign, you are closing the conversation cycle with the group of contacts that belong to that campaign, meaning your chatbot will no longer send messages to the contacts. You can have several campaigns in parallel for the same chatbot, the action of ending a campaign does not affect the contacts that are inside another.

Elementos de una campaña

Contacts

A "contact" refers to an end user who is going to interact and chat with your chatbot. In the case of the Twilio channel, a contact is identified by the digits of a mobile phone number, preceded by the country code.

Data for message customization

This is the only optional element of a campaign, as it is mandatory, it depends on whether you have configured a Custom Data action in your chatbot. If so, at the time of creating your campaign you must include the value that will be assigned to the Custom Data variables for each of the contacts.

To perform this contact integration with the custom data you have to:
  1. Generate a file in the format: .tsv or .xls
  2. Add a first column whose header is the word CONTACT

  3. Add a new column for each Custom Data action that has been configured on the chatbot. The header of each of this column should be the unique ID of the action. See the following example:

IMPORTANT: The correct format for loading a custom data of the  DATE type is YYYY-MM-DD.

Chatbot's Active Hours

The time in which your chatbot can send messages to the contacts is 8:00 a.m to 21:00 p.m (GMT-5:00); outside this hours, the chatbot will not reply to the messages received.

REMEMBER: Messages sent by your contacts outside active hours wont be lost,  they will be stored in SmartChat and your chatbot will  answer them the next day within service hours.

Concluding a campaign

SmartChat campaigns start and end on demand through a click. To end (stop, close) a campaign:

  1. Go to the campaings menu (top menu bar)

  2. Search and select the chatbot by which you launched the campaign
  3. Identify the active campaign you want to end and press the Finish button

  4. That's it!, your campaign has been closed.

IMPORTANT

  • By ending a campaign, you'll terminate any conversation in process between your chatbot and a contact.
  • When a campaign ends, it is not possible to activate it again.
